This is a fun and dynamic class for expecting parents addressing numerous topics about your new baby, such as:

  • Supporting infant growth & development

This eight week series consists of eight sessions; providing the necessary skills to aid in preventing, reducing and managing anger. The eight tools include:

  • Recognizing stress
  • Developing empathy
  • Responding instead of reacting
  • Changing that conversation with yourself
  • Communicating assertively
  • Adjusting expectations
  • Forgiving but not forgetting
  • Retreating and thinking things over
This six week series consists of 12 sessions; providing the necessary skills to aid in preventing, reducing, and managing stress. This course has proven to provide the following:

  • Increased use of social support
  • Actual reduction in work and family stressors
  • Use of effective coping strategies
  • Changes in the meaning of stressful events
  • Increased use of a wider range of stress management approaches
This class is intended to educate attendees about the dynamics of abusive behaviors, and the various legal consequences for marines and spouses, as well as to provide basic skills for individuals in order to avoid using violence in their personal relationship. Topics include:

  • Typologies of abuse
  • Cycle of violence
  • Effects of DV on children
  • Preventative techniques
  • Consequences of DV
This workshop is for couples or individuals who want to learn effective communication skills, and skills to resolve conflicts and disagreements in a relationship. Topics include:

  • Communication styles
  • Healthy communication
  • Stages of conflict
  • Conflict resolution
This class will provide an understanding of the five key principles of positive parenting:

  • Using assertive discipline
  • Ensuring a safe engaging environment
  • Having reasonable expectations
  • Looking after yourself as a parent
  • Creating a positive learning environment
In this class, you will receive an understanding of the six key ingredients to raising responsible teenagers:

  • Being respectful and considerate
  • Taking part in family decision making
  • Being assertive
  • Being involved in family activities
  • Developing a healthy lifestyle
  • Being reliable
This is a preventative class focusing on the healthy use of alcohol and other substances. It provides a new perspective on topics including:

  • Self-reflection
  • Myths & facts about drinking
  • Building low risk guidelines
  • Understanding tolerance
  • Realities of a standard drink
  • Finding relaxation & excitement
Through interactive classes, participants will learn new skills to increase their commitment to each other while learning how to sustain a vibrant and happy marriage. The five classes include:

  • Managing daily affairs
  • Finances
  • Conflict resolution

Brand new for 2018! This extremely interactive and skill-based experience will allow Marines to exit this one hour class with tangible skills that will assist them in making decisions with purpose and mindfulness – and not based upon emotion, or peer pressure. Stress, alcohol, the future, negative thoughts and pressure will be examined, and combative techniques will be provided.

This six session program focuses on relationship skills and decision making to help participants achieve their goals in relationships, family, and marriage. The six classes include topics related to:

  • Knowing yourself first
  • Identifying healthy relationships and smart love
  • Communication strategies
  • Warning signs of dangerous relationship patterns
  • Making tough relationship decisions
  • Overcoming relationship challenges

Group Descriptions

A same gender counseling group to teach safe coping skills for individuals who have experienced trauma. Participants will:

  • Learn to build a life worth living
  • Learn self-care strategies to heal from trauma
  • Build healthy relationships with oneself and others
